A Light on the Point honors leadership, entrepreneurship, and partnership  in support of higher education. Please join us for this celebration with community leaders and enjoy a fun, seaside evening of cocktails, complimentary beer and our legendary hors d’oeuvres. The event also is in honor of Dr. James Ortiz and his 10 years of leadership at Southern Maine Community College.

Tickets, RSVPs and Donations:
This event is designed as a fundraiser to support some of our most pressing needs at Southern Maine Community College.  Our suggested ticket price is $30.

Event Directions:
A Light on the Point will be held on the SMCC South Portland campus, on the field overlooking Casco Bay just behind the College’s Culinary Arts Center.  The Parking lot for the event will be on your right, just before the Culinary Arts Center.

From I-295
Take exit 6A (Forest Avenue South).
Immediately bear to the right onto Route 77 South.  Follow all the way through downtown Portland.
At bottom of large hill (State Street) road bears right over the Casco Bay Bridge.
After crossing the bridge proceed straight through the lights and follow road (Broadway) for approximately 1 mile.
Broadway ends at a stop sign and the intersection with Benjamin Pickett St.  Take a right onto Pickett.
Drive through the campus to the next stop sign and the intersection with Fort Road.  Take a left onto Fort Road, passing the College’s Campus Center.
Parking for the event will be just ahead on your right.
