Community Calendar

 Mid Coast Hospital if offering a Tobacco Cessation Education and Support Group to assist individuals trying to quit tobacco. This program will be offered at no charge in the Community Resource Room (near the Emergency Department) at Mid Coast Hospital, 123 Medical Center Drive in Brunswick. Meetings will be held from 4:30 to 5:45 pm every Monday starting October 15 through November 5.

The four-part program will assist participants in making a strong quit plan and will provide tips on medications for quitting, changing habits, and managing stress through diet and exercise. The classes, facilitated by Tobacco Treatment Specialist Marla Davis, MSN, RN, TTS-C, are limited in size and registration is required.

Statistics have shown that receiving support in an individual or group setting can significantly improve a person’s chances of quitting tobacco for good.
