Celebrate the start of the summer season at Historic New England’s annual Open House. Castle Tucker will be open to the public with free guided tours on the hour and half hour from 11 am to 5 pm, with the last tour leaving at 4:00 pm. Built in 1807, Castle Tucker takes you back in time to the life of an upper middle class nineteenth century shipping family. Captain Richard Tucker Jr. bought the house in 1858, and moved in with his young wife and baby daughter. The couple updated the mansion with Victorian decoration and furnishings while their family grew to include five lively children. The family lived in the house until 2004.
