Ebenezer’s Brew Pub, home to Lively Brewing Company, is excited to announce its Grand Opening Weekend: The Start to a Lively Summer on June 20^th-22^nd.   The weekend will commence with a ribbon cutting on Friday, June 20 at 4 p.m. hosted by the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber.   “We are very excited to showcase 15 of our Lively Brewing beers, a new food menu, our beer garden, and local music.  It truly will be a great kick off to summer,” exclaimed Chris Lively, owner.

Twelve years ago, Chris and Jen Lively scoured the country in hopes of finding the perfect spot to build their dream, when they landed in Lovell, Maine they knew they found it.  They wanted to bring the best beers in the world to one of the most beautiful places in the world, hence the birth of beer heaven: Ebenezer’s Pub. After winning numerous awards, including best beer bar in the world five years in a row, they decided it was time for an encore…a brew pub. “My great grandfather was a brewmaster of his own brewery down in San Antonio, Texas, so it’s in our blood,” said Lively. 

They opened Lion’s Pride in Brunswick during the spring of May 2009.  As the Livelys saved enough capital to build the brewery The Lion’s Pride Pub became well known in the area as a fantastic beer bar, even winning several awards like their sister restaurant.  “We’ve done this with no bank loans. This is all out of our own pocket,” Lively said. “I believe in doing things in grass-roots fashion and that’s how we did it.”

Five years later, the Lion’s Pride has reincarnated into Ebenezer’s Brew Pub; the name change bears a closer connection to the world famous sister restaurant and now houses Lively Brewing Company.   Lively Brewing Company is dedicated to the classic beer drinker, and attempts to brew beers flawlessly to style using the highest quality ingredients.  Lively Brewing Company’s brewmaster, Michael LaCharite, started Casco Brewing twenty years ago and was the head brewer at Baxter Brewing Company.  Craig Dilger, the brewer’s assistant, is also well known in the beer world as a notorious homebrewer in Portland, with over 10 years of homebrewing experience.  Chris Lively, owner, oversees the brewery and with over 20 years of restaurant experience, an amazing beer palate, and a traditional culinary education he adds a creative twist to the brewing process.  This dynamic team is excited to share 15 Lively Brewing Company beers during the Grand Opening, and will be roaming around the pub during the event to offer stories and information about each of the brews. 

The Grand Opening will begin with a ribbon cutting at 4 PM, at which time Ebenezer’s Brew Pub will be offering special small plate specials and $2 Lively Brewing Beers.  The Grand Opening weekend includes live music:  Jazz Meets Blues on Friday, June 20^th (8:30 PM), Robbie Coffin Combo with Tim Bishop on Saturday, June 21^st (8:30 PM), and Sunday's Reggae Fest with A Mighty Lion, June 22^nd (2-5 PM).  Ebenezer’s Brew Pub hopes the Grand Opening serves as a platform to showcase Lively Brewing beers along with an updated food menu that includes fresh, local seafood dishes, delicious small plates, and classic pub fare.   Ebenezer’s Brew Pub’s summer hours are Mon-Sun 11:30 AM to close.
