River Landing -- is a redevelopment of the site of the former Amenity Manor nursing home located in the heart of Topsham’s Historic District at 29 Elm Street. The site is exceptional for a number of reasons. First, it is part of an attractive New England village – with short walks to Topsham’s lower village as well as Brunswick’s main street. Second, the property is located on the Androscoggin River. Residents can enjoy views of the river and there is potential for partnering with the town on a “river walk” connecting River Landing directly to the lower village via a pathway along the Androscoggin. This “river walk” project is just one element of the Town’s strategy to revitalize the lower village area and its adjoining historic district. Lastly, the project is located directly across from the Highlands Retirement Community and the Highlands will be a part of the ownership group. There are a variety of opportunities for the two communities to complement and support one another.
