Maranatha - A Dominican Band specializing in Merengue beats and Caribbean rhythm.

Over the past twenty years, Seeds of Independence and many other committed groups from Maine have traveled to La Romana, Dominican Republic on construction and medical trips to help the most vulnerable by building the Good Samaritan Hospital. The hospital, once the site of a garbage dump, now sees over 60,000 patients each year. The hospital has been the recipient of grants and support from many of the Maine Rotary organizations, non-profits and churches around the State.

On Friday, August 28th at 6:00pm, the musicians of the Maranatha Band are coming from the Dominican Republic to show their appreciation with a high energy performance of Merengue beats and Caribbean rhythm. Please join them for an outside concert at Seeds of Independence. The concert is free, and any donations will go to the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana.
The Seeds Center for Collaborative Youth Services will be open for tours along with the YMCA at Brunswick Landing. Come see the home of Harpswell Coastal Academy’s new freshman class and the new Grit Leadership Afterschool Program operated by Seeds of Independence.
