Meet in the Multipurpose Room at the Main Building of Thornton Oaks, 25 Thornton Way – off Baribeau Drive in Brunswick

Suggestions:  Bring insect repellent, hats, and good walking shoes.

Thornton Oaks will provide bottled water to take with you and is offering refreshments at the end of the walk in the Multipurpose Room.

A fairly easy 1.5 mile walk at a leisurely pace on flat terrain.

As we walk from Thornton Oaks, we’ll use the trail entrances and the main trails linking to BTLT’s Crystal Spring Farm.  Though the trails and woodlands are quiet and peaceful, the rest of Crystal Spring Farm is a busy place these days. We’ll share with you the plans for the new trailhead on Maurice Drive and ideas for the 2012 opening of the Tom Settlemire Community Gardens area near to Thornton Oaks, the success of farmer Seth Kroeck and the Crystal Spring Community Farm CSA, and the popular Saturday Farmers’ Market as we walk through wooded areas and fields.  Along the way we’ll tell you a few facts about the history of Crystal Spring  Farm.
