3D Printing for Commercial and Industrial Use 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM TechPlace, Brunswick Landing , Brunswick

3D Printing for Commercial and Industrial Use

Join us at the new TechPlace facility for an informative day focusing on commercial and industrial 3D printing! This free event will give you valuable insight into how FDM, PolyJet and even metal 3D printing are being used in a wide range of industries. Register Here:  http://www.caddedge.com/3d-printing-event-brunswick-me-march-15-2016

3D Printers and Parts on Display
This event is free, and you can come and go at any point. There will be commercial FDM (uPrint) and PolyJet (Objet30) printers on display along with 3D printed parts. Our staff will be available for discussions during and between talks.

Sessions are designed to quickly get you up to speed on what’s possible with 3D printing, examine some specific high-impact applications and equip you with the justification of 3D printing from a business perspective. These sessions will be in conjunction with an open-house style display of 3D printers and parts. Lunch is served at noon for this free event. Sign up today to reserve your spot!

  •  9:30am     Registration
  •  10:00am  3D Printing Applications
  • Additive manufacturing and 3D printing are making big impacts across a range of industries and disciplines. Learn how applications like prototype injection mold tooling, jigs/fixtures and rapid prototyping are changing, and where your organization can best take advantage.
  •  11:00am   Direct Metal 3D Printing: Technology Challenges and Viable Alternatives
  • While direct metal 3D printing is advancing in capabilities, it remains an expensive and complex process. Learn when this niche technology is truly a best solution, but also when it isn’t. For alternatives, we will take you through a range of solutions that include metal-replacement materials and indirect ways to use 3DP for metal parts.
  •  12:00pm   Lunch Session: Virtual Testing in CAD + Physical Testing Using 3DP
This informative session explains advanced tools that designers use to validate concepts both in the virtual world and with physical prototypes. This combination gives you more design freedom, faster iterations and overall better designs.
  •  1:00pm    The Ins & Outs of Your CAD Design to 3D Printing Workflow
  • How do you prepare in CAD for sending your designs to a 3D Printer? What considerations need to be taken into account? What can be done to optimize the part within the 3D printer software itself? Learn from two application engineers as they show you the software tools and what you should be thinking about in your own CAD to 3D printing workflow.
  •  2:00pm    3D Printing ROI/Justifying a 3D Printer for Your Organization
  • Our concluding talk will give you the inside info on how commercial 3D printers can be used for multiple applications within an organization to maximize ROI. We will also show how the prototyping process using in-house equipment isn’t just faster than ordering parts—it improves design quality by improving design methodologies.
