Matthew Thurlow, former curator at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and now development officer at Winterthur, presents From Artisan to Mechanic: Duncan Phyfe and the Early Nineteen-century Furniture Trade, a lecture on the furniture of Duncan Phyfe and his New York area contemporaries from 1805-1845. This lecture offers a special preview of the Duncan Phyfe exhibition opening in December at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Admission is $5 for members of Historic New England adn $10 for nonmembers.
