OceanView at Falmouth presents Valerie Lovelace to talk about the meaning of life and embracing mortality.
Dying isn't considered a “fun” topic for discussion and unfortunately such conversations, if they take place at all, often come too late. This can make it easy to have one's wishes ignored at the end of life.
Valerie Lovelace is Founder and Executive Director of the Wiscasset based non-profit “It’s My Death,” a retired Navy Veteran, interfaith minister, chaplain of the Westport Volunteer Fire Department and volunteers with the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine and a local hospice organization.
Valerie’s presentation will enable participants to gain greater insight into the legal and ethical concerns of aid-in-dying and Maine’s own history with the movement.
Refreshments and tours of Legacy Memory Care will follow discussion.
