September 13: Ron Chase
September 20: Maureen Milliken
October 4: Amy Ray
October 18: Chris Holm

September 13, Ron Chase: Topsham freelance writer Ron Chase was fascinated by the true story of Bernard Patterson’s daring 1971 robbery of the Northern National Bank in Mars Hill, Maine. Patterson escaped with $110,000 which at the time was the largest bank robbery in State of Maine history. Chase’s book is The Great Mars Hill Bank Robbery, the story of Patterson’s adventure filled controversial life that led him across the United States, then to Europe and North Africa.
September 20, Maureen Milliken: Maureen Milliken, the author of the Bernie O’Dea mystery series, is a third-generation newspaper editor, whose books reflect her love of her home state, Maine, and also her affection for journalism, as they draw on her experience as a newspaper reporter and editor in northern New England. In her debut mystery novel Cold Hard News, as spring thaw finally arrives in her small Maine town of Redimere, the town’s secrets begin to emerge. Bernie O’Dea, the editor of the Peaks Weekly Watcher, is pleased to finally have a big story to cover when a body is found in a melting snowbank. But as the season turns into a long, hot explosive summer, the story gets bigger – maybe too big for Bernie to handle. The sequel No News is Bad News, was released in June 2016.
October 4, Amy Ray: After years of running her own business – an old-fashioned five and dime store -- Amy Ray was ready to let her imagination soar. The result was her mystery/thriller, Dangerous Denial. In this gripping new noir novel, denying the past proves dangerous for BK Hartshaw and Trevor Mayhew because nothing is as it seems. BK is a rising star at a public relations firm and a charity ball should be a high point in her career. But a closely guarded secret threatens to destroy her chance for happiness with the only man she’s ever loved: a man who is also hiding a deadly secret.
October 18, Chris Holm: Portland resident Chris Holm is the author of the Michael Hendricks thrillers. His first Hendricks novel, The Killing Kind, was nominated for numerous awards, including Boston Globe Best Book of 2015. When a viral video of a terrorist attack in San Francisco reveals that a federal witness long thought dead is still alive, the organization he’d agreed to testify against will stop at nothing to put him in the ground. Special Agent Charlie Thompson is determined to protect him, but her hands are tied; the FBI’s sole priority is catching the terrorists before they strike again. So Charlie calls the only person on the planet who can keep her witness safe: Michael Hendricks. Once a covert operative for the US military, Hendricks makes his living hitting hitmen; he returns September 13th in Red Right Hand.
