Vox Nova Chamber Choir Presents: "Da Pacem: Music for Peace in our Time" 3:00 PM Studzinski Recital Hall, Bowdoin Campus , Brunswick, ME Vox Nova Chamber Choir, under the direction of Shannon Chase, presents “Da Pacem: Music for Peace in our Time,” on Saturday, January 14 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, January 15 at 3:00 PM in the Studzinski Recital Hall on the Bowdoin Campus in Brunswick.
This dramatic and inspirational concert includes music by Arvo Pärt (Da Pacem Domine); Veljo Tomis (Curse Upon Iron); Rudi Tas (Miserere) featuring Bangor guest cellist Tim Garrett; Z. Randall Stroope (The Conversion of Saul); Ēriks Ešenvalds (O Salutaris Hostia); René Clausen (In Pace); Kenneth Lampl (Jerusalem); and finally, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., Thomas Dorsey’s arrangement of Precious Lord, Take My Hand, and Moses Hogan’s The Battle of Jericho.
Founded in 2009 on the campus of Bowdoin College, Vox Nova Chamber Choir features 40 singers from Maine and New Hampshire. The mixed ensemble champions the expansive body of modern and contemporary choral repertoire and brings performances of new music to audiences in Portland and Midcoast Maine. The 2016-2017 season is sponsored by HM Payson.
Tickets will be available for sale online starting December 10, 2016.
$25 General Admission at the door.
$20 General Admission in advance online at www.voxnovachamberchoir.org. Online ticket sales will close the midnight prior to each concert performance.
$10 General Admission for college students with ID and children.
