Laurie Apgar Chandler, author of Upwards: The Story of the First Woman to Solo Thru-Paddle the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, will present a slideshow of her adventure canoeing the country’s longest mapped inland paddling trail. Along the way, she encountered challenges that pushed her to the limits of her courage and endurance. In this uplifting story, the author weaves the history, wildlife, scenery, and people she encountered into an old-fashioned adventure tale of upstream struggles, thrilling whitewater, escaped convicts, and wild weather. Books will be available for sale and signing.
