Kennebec Estuary Land Trust will sponsor a series of five programs.
The days’ activities, which begin at 9:30 a.m. with birding at Nequasset Lake.
The kids’ story hour and activities program will begin at 11 a.m. and will include a story about alewives, interactive games to learn about alewives and their migration and alewife-centered crafts.
KELT is encouraging people to bring their own watercraft to join local experts for a tour of the lake, an introduction to the alewife harvest and a presentation about the way uses of the lake have changed over time.
The day-long activities will conclude at 4:30 p.m. at the Woolwich Town Office after a presentation about the history of Nequasset Lake, Nequasset Dam and the Nequasset alewife harvest.
