Lessons from Avian Haven Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center: a citizen’s guide to helping the birds of Maine 6:00 PM Topsham Public Library , Topsham

Come discover the common reasons birds are admitted to Avian Haven Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center in Freedom and what citizens can do to help our local birds thrive.

Laura Suomi-Lecker is Education and Outreach Coordinator and long-time volunteer with Avian Haven. Ms. Lecker will show – with slides and video – the effort and dedication required to rehabilitate eagles, owls, hawks, loons, and many species of songbirds. The presentation includes examples of the joyous moment when a rehabilitated bird, including eagles, are released back to the wild. Don’t miss this engaging presentation about rehabilitating the birds that animate our outdoor lives.

This is a drop-in program, registration is not required to attend.
