The Chamber's Annual Awards Night 2022 will be unlike anything we have done before because along with recognizing 3-5 business leaders who have been exemplary throughout these last two years, we also will have two of our biggest announcements in years. Because of these changes, and because we want to get as many people in the room as possible, we have dropped the ticket price and changed the format.
Here are the key details:
Format Change: Though we will still have speeches we want this to be as much a networking event as it is a night of celebration. For that we have opted against a full-buffet meal, and the dinnerware and assigned seating that goes with that, and are doing a special Flavors of Maine menu that will be at stations around the room you can access anytime and passed appetizers. The food concept is very exciting and we will have a full menu out soon once we finalize the sauces and such with our caterer.
Program for the Evening: There will be three main speaking times and we will be spacing these out throughout the night and in-between we will still have mingling and networking time. It will be as much a mixer as a dinner, and that way for those that feel comfortable being seated, they can sit with their colleagues and friends, while those who like to 'work the room' and drop in for visits will have that freedom.
The three-piece program will be:
Excellence in Service Award
for Adaptability and Perseverance
Curt Dale Clark and Maine State Music Theatre
Excellence in Service Award
for Community Building and Creative Solutions
Allison Hopkins and Wilcox Wellness & Fitness
Excellence in Service Award (2)
for Community Promotion and Business Support
Our Two Main Street Programs:
Amanda McDaniel and Main Street Bath
Debora King and Brunswick Downtown Association
FAQ:
Will there still be tables? Yes, we will have both sit-down rounds and high-top cocktail style tables.
Can we still reserve a table? Yes, seated round tables of 8 (and possibly 10) can be reserved but no less than 8. High-top cocktail tables cannot be reserved.
Will the program be all at once? No, we will spread it out throughout the evening, into three pieces.
What is the night’s agenda? The committee is still hammering out which piece will be first, second and third, but essentially it will be:
Happy (1/2) Hour 5:00 to 5:30
Speaking section #1 5:30 - 5:45 Introducing Chamber Works 2030
Mingle, Network & Eat 5:45 - 6:15
Speaking Section #2 6:15 - 6:50 Award Recognition
Mingle, Network & Eat 6:50 - 7:15
Speaking Section #3 7:15 - 7:30 Unveil New Chamber Name & Logo
Event Ends & Say Goodnight 7:30
Both the logo and workforce program sections are expected to be 5-15 minutes (Max)
The Award Presentations will be trimmed down this year, and we expect that to last 15-25 minutes (max; again only 3-5 of those this year as opposed to 8-10 in previous years)
Ticket Price: With the change in format, lowering the costs for the rental flatware. and wanting to make it affordable for as many people as possible, we have cut $20 off the regular price and will be doing $55 per ticket.
Because we anticipate so many people will be mingling, we will not have a table price- all tickets are $55 per person. Any company buying 8 or 10 tickets will be contacted about a table reservation, if tickets are purchased together. If you have questions, e-mail Cory
Caterer: Cook’s Lobster & Ale House is providing some heavy appetizers, desserts and great selection of food that can be handled while mingling or substantive enough for you to make a sitdown plate too, if you prefer that. There will also be a full cash bar with beer, wine and liquor (cash or credit).
