Community Calendar

Join us, Wednesday September 21 for a dual ribbon cutting and Chamber After Hours networking extravaganza in the Topsham Fair Mall!  This is an After Hours unlike any other as we will be spreading it over two locations on the same night and include two ribbon cuttings too.  Oh, did we mention that this will be an exclusive preview night as both new businesses don’t open to the public until September 22, so our attendees get to join the media on-hand to see it first?! 

Yeah, it’s going to be big. 

The host for the After Hours event is Topsham Fair Mall (John Larson and his team) but the two hosting locations are The Cheesy Skillet (in the old Little Caesar’s space between Day’s Jewelers and Hannaford) and Smitty’s Game Lab, closer to Sherman’s Bookstore and closer (obviously) to Smitty’s Cinema.  The general idea is we will begin at the Cheesy Skillet and end at Smitty’s Game Lab with two ribbon cuttings.   

Here's how it will work:

Both businesses will be open at 4:30 for our guests, though we are encouraging everyone (even if they park near Smitty’s) to make it down to The Cheesy Skillet by 5:15 or so to sample their food, and prepare for the ribbon cutting.  Chamber Board President Nick Favreau will run both ribbon cuttings and you will get to meet owner/chef Dan Caron and his Cheesy Skillet team at the first ribbon cutting.  The Cheesy Skillet ribbon cutting will happen at 5:30. 

BTW, cash bar for drinks, so just be prepared as is the case whenever a restaurant hosts us.  

Around 5:45 everyone will be invited to walk down the mall to Smitty’s Game Lab for their ribbon cutting that will be at 6PM.  Their staff and families will be on hand to show off their arcade, and axe throwing lanes along with a 20-tap sports bar and more. 

After the Smitty’s ribbon cutting, there will be the regular Chamber updates with a few member updates and then the door prize raffle.  Then it will be time to mingle and explore Smitty’s Game Lab as the axe throwing lanes, the arcades will be open just for us.  They will stay open til 7:30 for us. 

To join us, please RSVP by 3PM on Tuesday September 20^th.  With the additional logistics that a dual ribbon cutting plus After Hours event needs, we need to print the name tags the afternoon before. 

You don’t *need* to register but it greatly helps us with head counts and food prep. 
You DO need to have a business card though so we know you are a reputable business person in the region. 
Non-member businesses are welcome to attend, with a business card, so invite a friend to this awesome preview night.

The “House of the Gourmet Mac and Cheese & Grilled Cheese Sandwich” began in Auburn and is expanding to Topsham.  With a slogan of ‘c’est Cheese’ you can guess that the menu is all about the dairy delicacy that so many love.  The menu features items like: Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, Braised Beef Mac & Cheese, the Cheeseorito, and numerous variations on the grilled cheese sandwich.

The Topsham location of Smitty’s Game Lab will have many of the same amenities of their Game Lab location in Sanford, Maine.  The state of the art entertainment complex will feature 4 lanes of Axe throwing with Lasertron projected targets. Craft-focused 20-tap video-walled sports bar. A grand arcade with over 60 games & comfort food menu.
