Growing Literacy: DIY Resilient Yard 3:00 PM Virtual

Please join us for an illuminating lecture by Horticulture Professional Pamela Hargest on the 100 Resilient Yards Project. Rain gardens, pollinators, and aesthetic vegetables can help you achieve your garden dreams. Pamela will share her favorite tips and tricks about what you can do to improve your yard in a sustainable and ecologically responsible way.

Pamela Hargest is a Horticulture Professional with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Cumberland County. She provides technical assistance to home, school, and community gardeners, and develops local and statewide horticulture programs in collaboration with community partners and Master Gardener Volunteers. She also manages the UMaine Gardens at Tidewater Farm in Falmouth, a public garden and educational site where a variety of gardening techniques are demonstrated.

This event is part of the 2024 Winter Garden Workshop series: Growing Literacy! Every year, the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust offers this series of events to engage with the community, support the Tom Settlemire Community Garden, and offer skill-building exercises for gardeners of all abilities. These workshops are a wonderful opportunity to learn from master gardeners and experts on a variety of gardening subjects. This year we are excited to host six workshops in collaboration with Growing to Give and Curtis Memorial Library. Bring your curiosity, questions, and join us! Thank you to Camden National Bank for sponsoring this series.
