Tedford Housing announces its upcoming Spring Benefit Concert featuring award-winning songwriter Jud Caswell and Giff Jamison and Nancy Sferra Duo.
All proceeds from the concert will support Tedford Housing programs and services.
This concert features Jud Caswell an award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing in his native state of Maine and beyond for more than 25 years. In 2006 he made a splash on the national scene, winning the legendary Kerrville New Folk competition. He has had his songs taught at Berklee, recorded by Judy Collins, and named “#4 Song of the Decade” by New York’s WFUV. His record “Live at the Seagull Shop” was number 1 album on the Folk Alliance International radio charts in March 2020. Jud is currently releasing a series of albums of music that he recorded during the early months of the pandemic.
Songwriters Giff Jamison and Nancy Sferra frequently perform as a duo, playing mostly original music throughout the Midcoast. Jamison draws from folk, jazz and rock influences, but his roots are country blues and finger-style guitar. He is a four-time finalist at the New England Songwriters Contest; and released a CD of original tunes, 2013’s Ramone. Sferra is a multi-instrumentalist who got her musical start by teaching herself to play guitar on a nylon string Harmony and moved into songwriting. With the new millennium, she began performing her folk-blues compositions locally and recorded two CDs, Smoke and Bones and Hardened Ground. Recently they have been recording a new CD of original material at Frog Hollow studio.
Tedford Housing’s mission is to empower people to move from homelessness to home.
