Are you interested in helping out at an organization but you’re not sure what’s available? Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, build job skills, and make a difference in your community. Come to a Free Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, May 9 at Thornton Oaks at 25 Thornton Way in Brunswick. From 4:00—6:00 pm, representatives from 18 local nonprofits, such as Cathance River Education Alliance, Tri-County Literacy, Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers and Brunswick Downtown Association, will be on hand to answer your questions and share information about their agencies and volunteer opportunities. Enjoy refreshments and a door prize while you discover a wide range of ways to volunteer. The event is co-hosted by Thornton Oaks and United Way of Mid Coast Maine. It is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Angie Buxton at 443-9752 or abuxton@uwmcm.org.
