Honor breast cancer survivors and help raise money for a great cause at the Portland Pirates 6th Annual Pink in the Rink Breast Cancer Awareness Night, Saturday, October 27th, 2012. The Mid Coast Hospital’s Breast Health Center is partnering with Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute, and the Portland Pirates to organize and sponsor this event. The game will be held at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée on Birch Street in Lewiston. It starts at 7:00 p.m. with a special pre-game ceremony at center ice honoring survivors. During the evening, the Mid Coast Hospital's Breast Center will also hold a raffle for several great items including an autographed Portland Pirates Breast Cancer Awareness Jersey, an autographed picture of Red Sox Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, a Bobblehead of Red Sox player Dustin Pedroia, a steak and lobster dinner plus an overnight stay at the Driftwood Inn on Bailey Island, a Portland Sea Dogs basket with tickets for four, a Portland Red Claws basket including a basketball signed by the team, and much more. All proceeds from the auction and a portion of ticket sales will go to benefit The American Cancer Society’s "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk, which will be held in Brunswick at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
