Spindleworks’ midsummer show, Archive Fever, is a retrospective exhibit celebrating the acts of making and collecting, as well as the center’s 35th anniversary year. Founded in 1978 by local artist Nan Ross, Spindleworks has grown to represent more than 40 artists working in a wide variety of art forms. Archive Fever brings together Spindleworks’ most prolific artists - including Betty Pinette, Rita Langlois, Diane Black, Terri Snape, and John Joyce - with newer artists who showcase Spindleworks at its best today. True to its history as a center for artistic experimentation, the show ranges from painting and drawing to fiber arts, sculpture, writing, and mixed media. Exhibited works will include pieces for sale and those only for display from the Spindleworks permanent collection, which have been rarely seen by the public in the past decade.
