Why buy craft supplies when there are scads of wonderful, discarded fibers ready to be upcycled? In this class, we will make use of discarded fibers from the recycling barn in Bowdoinham or from students’ own rag piles. The class will teach a simple rag rug technique, “toothbrush rugs,” that utilize a simple stitch to create a bathmat or small, washable chair pad or rug. This can include a side trip to Bowdoinham’s Recycling Barn for materials collection if students are interested.
