Studio 48 Performing Arts Center Presents

YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN

Studio 48 Performing Arts Center’s musical theater Veteran’s are presenting this ever-so-beloved musical based upon the comic strip, Charlie Brown. YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN opened on March 7, 1967 and played for 1,597 performances in New York at the theater 80 St. Marks with Gary Burghoff in the title role. This version was briefly revised on Broadway in 1971 and only played for 32 performances at the John Golden Theater. Since then, a new revival version (YOUR’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN (REVISED) was presented on Broadway in 1999 and played for 149 performances at the Ambassador Theater with award-winning performances by Roger Bart and Kristin Chenoweth as Snoopy and Sally. Studio 48 cast of YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN feels this show is ideal for a final show for them. The cast is small and the routines are rather simplistic. There are multiple short scenes depicting Charlie Brown’s every- day life. The show displays feelings of fun, laughter and sincerity tangibly building the character’s moods.

Ratsavong will be attending Dean College in the Fall. Playing the role of Sally, is former Maine’s Outstanding Teen, Kristin Korda, of Saco who is moving to Boston to pursue a career in contemporary singing. Playing the role of Lucy, is Jamie Lee Richardson, a member of the Maine National Guard and is also a returning musical theater student at the University of Southern Maine.
