Community Calendar

On April 11th Hank Lentfer, author of Faith of Cranes, will discuss the challenges of conservation work in our increasingly consumptive culture, and how having an attachment to place and community can give us greater hope for the future. Using images and sounds gathered from a life embedded on Alaska’s wild edge, Hank will explore the roles of beauty and wonder to inspire the work of conservation. Sponsored by Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy, Lentfer will offer two events – an afternoon talk at 4:00 pm at Bowdoin College in the Beam Classroom of the Visual Arts Center, and an evening presentation and book reading at 6:30 at Frontier Café. Both events are free and open to the public ($2 suggested donation at Frontier). Books will be available for sale at Gulf of Maine Books and at both events.
