CDR Brian Metcalf graduated from the US Naval Academy in May 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture. He completed sea tours aboard USS San Jacinto, CG 56,
and USS Briscoe, DD 977, including qualifications as Gas Turbine EOOW and Surface Warfare Officer. In 2000, CDR Metcalf completed his Master’s degree in Mechanical
Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School and transferred to the Engineering Duty Officer community. He qualified as an EDO during his tour at Supervisor of Shipbuilding,
Newport News, VA where he served as an Assistant Project Manager for the CVN RCOH program, including work onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, CVN 69. CDR Metcalf
served two years as a Damage Control Inspector and Trials Coordinator at the Board of Inspection and Survey in Norfolk, VA. CDR Metcalf then served as an Assistant Program
Manager in the CVN 21 Program Office as Technology Insertion Manager. He completed an IA assignment in Baghdad, Iraq where he was a Program Manager for the US Army Corps of Engineers reconstruction program. Upon returning to NAVSEA, he was the Principal APM for Requirements, Fleet Introduction, and Test & Trials for the LPD 17 Program Office in Washington, DC. He is currently the Program Manager’s Representative for DDG 1000 at the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath, Maine. Where: Admiral Steak House, 238 Centre Street, Bath, ME
