The SBIR Summer Session is an annual event where Maine Technology Institute (MTI) hosts federal agencies who come to Maine to present about their SBIR/STTR programs and to meet with entrepreneurs and companies one-on-one to discuss specific topics and opportunities. The SBIR/STTR program is a +$2.5 Billion annual federal government program targeting innovative technologies developed by small businesses. This year seven federal agencies are sending representatives to Maine to discuss their SBIR/STTR programs and specific topics of interest for applications. Those agencies include
MTI works with many companies and organizations each year through our Technical Assistance Program (TAP) to prepare compelling SBIR/STTR applications. Over the last ten years MTI has helped more than ninety (90) companies and organizations win SBIR/STTR awards totaling more than $87 million. In addition, several Maine companies have been selected for the SBA's Tibbetts award for their innovative technology products, processes or services. MTI is committed to helping Maine companies win more SBIR/STTR grants and bringing more federal funding to the state.
