Curtis Library to Reopen the Building to Patrons

Beginning Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8

Curbside Service to Continue Monday through Saturday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – For the month of August, Curtis Memorial Library looks forward to welcoming patrons back inside for the first time since March, when the building closed due to Maine CDC directives as part of the COVID-19 shutdown.

The library building will be open for limited browsing and computer use on Fridays in August from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm beginning August 7, and Saturdays in August from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm beginning August 8.  Opening additional hours and days will be considered in September.

Topsham Public Library Receives Grant to Build Small Business Resources

Topsham Public Library announced today that they have received funding from the American Library Association (ALA) to build capacity and expand their programming to small businesses and entrepreneurs from low-income and underrepresented groups. Topsham Public Library (TPL) is one of 13 public libraries around the country to receive this funding from Libraries Build Business, an initiative of the American Library Association funded by Google.org. Google.org has invested $2 million in the initiative. This grant - made as part of the tech company’s Grow with Google initiative to create opportunity to all - will also create learning resources for any library to support entrepreneurs in its community.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens Announces New President and CEO

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce that, as of July 6, Gretchen Ostherr will become the Gardens’ next President and CEO. “Gretchen brings a strong record of vision and commitment to mission,” says Judy Parkhill, head of the search committee, “a passion for the outdoor environment, demonstrated leadership, and superb communication skills. It was a unanimous decision.”
