CareerCenter Weekly Job Fairs Are Back Virtually

CareerCenter Hiring Events are Back…Virtually!

Maine CareerCenters are pleased to announce the return of Hiring Events using a virtual format.  Events will run on a weekly basis each Thursday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  These hiring events are open to all businesses in the state of Maine and will be based on industry per the following schedule:

October 15, 2020 – Construction Trades (Electrical/Carpentry/Plumbing/Roofing)
October 22, 2020 – Education/Custodial/Janitorial
October 29, 2020 – Medical/Medical Staffing/Home Care
November 5, 2020 – Manufacturing/Production/Fabrication
November 12, 2020 – Logistics/Supply Chain (Includes CDL-A/CDL-B)
November 19, 2020 – Staffing Agencies (Non-Medical)/Financial Services
December 3, 2020 – Hospitality & Food Services/Retail/Wholesale/Customer Service
December 10, 2020 – Administrative/Management/Emergency Services/Law Enforcement /Security
December 17, 2020 – Government Jobs

Events are being limited to five businesses per event with up to 40 job seekers to keep with the session timeframe.  Each business will have 10 minutes to promote their company and job opportunities.  Job seekers will then have 10 minutes to ask any questions.  Businesses should ensure they include contact information and how to apply in their delivery.  Registrations are on a “first come-first serve” basis, so don’t delay to register.

For Employers:

You must be asking how does my business get involved?  Businesses wishing to participate are to be registered in the Maine JobLink with at least one active job posted.  If you are not registered in the Maine JobLink, visit us at https://joblink.maine.gov/ada/r/ to register, create an account and post your openings.  If you have questions or challenges in creating your account or posting openings, contact Leo Deon at Leo.J.Deon@maine.gov or the Maine JobLink Employer Assistance Staff at joblink@maine.gov.

Once you are set up in the Maine JobLink, you can register for the hiring event by contacting Leo Deon at Leo.J.Deon@maine.gov.  The deadline for businesses to register is three days prior to each event.  You will receive a confirmation email upon registration and an event link 24 hours prior to the event.  Once registered, should you need to cancel for any reason, contact us so we reallocate that space to another employer.

For Job Seekers:

As a job seeker, you will have to register in advance at least three days prior to each event by contacting John Wagner at John.W.Wagner@maine.gov.  You will receive a confirmation email upon registration and an event link 24 hours prior to the event.  You will have an opportunity to ask questions from participating employers during the events and make connections for potential hiring.
