Coastal Ortho Welcomes two Doctors to the Practice

Here is a letter Costal Ortho sent to their patients about some very exciting news that they asked us to share:

Dear Current and Future Patients,

We are writing to update you on new providers joining our practice. As much of the community knows, Dr. Guernelli has had to take a leave of absence from the Interventional Pain Management (IPM) practice in order to focus on his health and family. In his absence, Kristen Schroeder-Cyr, FNP and Alisa Siulinski, FNP have continued to see his patients and are currently accepting new patients.

It is with excitement that we announce that Dr. Michael Carl will be joining Dr. Guernelli, Kristen, and Alisa to help maintain and grow the Interventional Pain Management practice. Dr. Carl performed his training through Baylor University Medical Center and is certified through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty in Pain Management.

The addition of Dr. Carl will allow for increased schedule availability for patients to be seen in the office and for procedures. Dr. Carl’s treatment philosophy and standard of care will greatly compliment the high level of care and reputation in the community that Dr. Guernelli, Kristen, and Alisa have worked so hard to create. Dr. Carl will be starting with Coastal Orthopedics Interventional Pain Management on November 2nd and is currently accepting and scheduling new patients.

In addition to Dr. Carl’s arrival, Dr. Michael Kulju will be joining Coastal Ortho as a Fellowship Trained Primary Care Sports Medicine provider on November 16th. Dr. Kulju also specializes in Non-Surgical Orthopaedics and Concussion Management and utilizes Diagnostic and Interventional Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in the care of his patients. Dr. Kulju attended medical school at Michigan State University and is fellowship trained through the University of Notre Dame/South Bend. With his training and high level of care, the arrival of Dr. Kulju will allow Coastal Ortho to better serve the community by increasing schedule availability and will help provide affordable orthopedic care to the mid-coast area.

Our team is happy to help you, your family and/or friends and is continuing to accept referrals for all divisions of our practice. Referrals can be made by having your primary care physician fax a referral to (207) 443-4578. We ask that they please include the reason for the referral as well as any pertinent imaging studies/records. If you require an urgent evaluation, please have your doctor let us know and we will expedite as best we can.
