Coray To Lead Mid Coast Hospital Volunteers

November 2, 2015

Mid Coast Hospital has appointed Shannon Coray as the Director of Volunteer Services. In her new role, Coray will recruit, train, and manage the more than 500 volunteers working throughout the Hospital. The volunteers at Mid Coast Hospital provide an average of 40,000 hours of service, supporting the hospital’s mission of enhancing the patient experience, improving the health of the community, and reducing the overall cost of healthcare in this region.

“My welcome by the team of volunteers and staff at Mid Coast has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Coray. “I look forward to establishing strong relationships with existing and new volunteers, matching their skillsets to support patient care and further the mission of the hospital.”

Coray joins Mid Coast with more than 25 years of professional experience in account management, marketing, sales, customer service, and fundraising. She has held a variety of volunteer and volunteer management positions, as well as numerous award-winning leadership and board roles in the business community and as a Navy spouse. She is the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.

Kara Johnson, Director of Development at Mid Coast Health Services commented, “Given the essential role that volunteers play in caring for the health of this community, we are so lucky to have Shannon on board. Her exceptional leadership and management style will blend nicely with the strong team of dedicated volunteers, as well as the organization as a whole.”
