Norway, ME – To help nonprofits fulfill their missions and help those in need, Norway Savings Bank awarded $1,055,500 to 355 nonprofits in 2023. $750,000 was paid out this year, while another $305,500 will be distributed in the form of multi-year grants.
In December, the bank made 19 surprise “Helping Hands gifts” to deserving organizations, totaling $20,000. These nonprofits provide much-needed resources in Oxford, Androscoggin, Cumberland, York and Sagadahoc counties.
“At this time of year, members of our communities may struggle with the high costs of food, heating oil and other essentials.” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “These Helping Hands gifts are our way of providing some assistance to nonprofits focusing on addressing those immediate needs.”
The organizations provide a wide range of offerings – nutrition, fuel, clothing, school supplies, housing, job training and more.
