The Theater Project presents DO YOU FEEL ANGER by Mara Nelson-Greenberg, directed by Christopher Price, running February 9th-19th. This absurdist comedy follows Sofia, an empathy coach, hired to work at a debt collection agency after a series of unprofessional phone calls. A hilarious cast of characters includes Howie, with an anger problem, Jordan, the poet, and Eva, who has just been trying to get by unnoticed. This comedy is an important statement on the danger of a world where some peoples emotions matter more than others. Director, Christopher Price, says “I’m drawn to this kind of writing; Mara Nelson-Greenberg’s use of the Absurdist genre. To amplify what is very real and serious by speaking irrationally, comically has great power. It can bring one up short and hopefully lead to much needed introspection.” Theater Project Executive Director, Amanda DeHahn, says, "Watching this show progress from rehearsals to a powerful statement on the importance of empathy has been an amazing experience. I just saw the final rehearsal and the humor, which is excellently delivered by a talented cast, is punctuated at the right moments by serious monologues to really drive home the underlying themes of the show. It's an excellent statement on the importance of a healthy work environment."
This show is for mature audiences only and does contain depictions of sexual harassment, as well as some language and a character that shares she has been mugged. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances are at 7:30 and the Sunday matinees are at 2:00 PM.
